Liam Hadari

Biography

Liam Hadari is an independent game developer and the founder of Luminam Games, a one-person horror studio. He began building and releasing games on his own as a teenager, and has shipped every title since as both developer and publisher, without a team, a publisher, or institutional funding behind him.

He has released two commercial horror titles on Steam, the most recent being Lightout 2 in 2022. His third title, The Evil Rise, is a first-person survival horror game that has been in development in Unreal Engine 5 for over three years.

He works across the entire stack himself: gameplay programming and enemy AI, level and encounter design, lighting and rendering, animation, audio, narrative and script, user interface, store presence, and publishing. The games are written, built, lit, scored, and shipped by the same person.

The Studio

Luminam Games is an independent horror studio that publishes its own titles directly on Steam. The focus is narrow on purpose: first-person horror, built with production values normally associated with much larger teams, at the scale one person can actually finish.

The catalogue has sold to players in more than sixty countries, with no marketing spend and no publisher. Titles have been played on stream by creators whose audiences run into the millions, and the work has drawn unsolicited approaches from industry professionals who found it on their own, including a voice-over director credited on major commercial releases, professional localisers credited across more than twenty published titles, and a platform talent scout from a publicly listed global virtual reality hardware manufacturer.
